Students hold up Unity Day banner

Lackawanna Middle School students and staff participated in Unity Day, a day founded by PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center to pledge to end bullying and wear orange. Students participated in various classroom activities, including “MOVING TOWARD A WORLD WITHOUT BULLYING.” It was a beautiful day to run, walk, stroll or roll on the track to show support for Unity Day.  After an announcement given by 6th grader Tasneem Barman, students could sign a pledge to SUPPORT others who have been hurt or harmed, treat others with KINDNESS, be more ACCEPTING of people’s differences and help INCLUDE those who are left out.
