This morning, before the school day, there was a traffic incident involving a car and an 11th-grade student at Lackawanna High School. It happened on South Park Avenue as the student was riding his bike to school.
The student was transported to Golisano Children’s Hospital of Buffalo for evaluation as a precaution. At this time, the student appears to be okay, and we are awaiting additional updates. Our thoughts are with the student and his family.
We encourage you to talk with your child about this, as they may find this news difficult to process. Should you or your child require any assistance or have concerns, our school counseling staff is available to students and families.
Additionally, we remind all members of our school community to exercise caution and adhere to traffic safety guidelines when traveling to and from school.
